Notice this feature missing, I use this feature to paint company colors on different company vessels so at a glance the helmsman can know what company assets are in his area of operation. the only issue I have run into in this endeavor is that from time to time one of the targets will get painted a different color, luckily, it’s an easy fix. We’ve had tons of requests for different ways to set AIS target colors over the years. Most of the requests are incompatible with many of the others and this has prevented us from making any big changes.
However, coloring vessels based on some fleet-wide policy (such as color each vessel based on its operator) is something that we can more easily support now that we have Fleet Services. This is one of the reasons we have left the ability to set a vessel’s color out of v4.5 for now (if you were to do that on a specific vessel’s ECS, it would not be clear what should happen when the color was set for the entire fleet).
So this ability should be coming in the future, but it will be via the portal so that every vessel in your fleet always gets the same colors.

That sounds exactly what I was looking for in my post the other day that I deleted as I now have to go to each boat and paint the company colors in, so using the portal would be great to get fleet information out. Anymore the portal looks so alike the ECS program “a good thing” that I forgot about the AIS feed needed to paint the other fleets.
