Beta Build Notes

Build 56

Changes include:

  • Added US Coast Pilot to the Places browser
  • Removed confusing “tile” counts from the update panels
  • Enabled a “sync log” to help track down synchronization issues
  • Various other fixes

Build 57

We are removing support for downloading raster charts due to the various problems caused by their size. If you are already using downloaded raster charts, they will continue to work for now, but support will be completely removed soon. If you don’t have any raster charts downloaded, then the related options will just disappear from the UI with this build. However, if you have downloaded some, you should notice your Settings button is highlighted, and tapping that will show a highlighted Charts and Add-Ons item, and tapping that will display a message about the feature being removed and recommending you disable the NOAA RNC option. Once you’ve disabled it, the various UI options should disappear.

We have also changed where navigation objects, instrument panels, layers/collections, etc. are stored on your device. You should not notice anything different because of this, however adjusting to this change might take some time when you first start the app. (The adjustment is complete when the sync indicator on the Settings button stops spinning.)

Other changes include:

  • Several Coast Pilot improvements
  • Removed option to download raster charts
  • Fixed problem with popup calendar in tide/current pages
  • Fixed problem when starting without internet
  • Various other fixes and improvements

Build 57.3

This build replaces the raster street maps with newer vector street maps. The new street maps better match the vector charts when seen in areas without vector chart coverage.

Be sure to check out Hybrid Vector mode with the new Street Maps!

Build 58.1

This update increases the reliability of the cloud-synchronization features. Due to changes on our servers, the initial synchronization after installing the update will take longer than usual. During the synchronization, your navigation objects and instrument panels might not be completely available. The synchronization indicator (the spinning arrows on the settings button) will be visible during this time.
