How can I create a route and have it utilize the current speeds to calculate an ETA? I don’t see any Current fields when displaying the route details.

It turns out the current beta release has a problem where it will only work when currents have been added to a route with v4. We’re getting an update ready for this week that fixes that.

Can I delete the route, import it into v4, and then use 4.5 to calculate ETAs?
I’m going down Long Island sound right now with strong currents, and really need to calculate at ETA to Hells Gate.
If you’re using a cloud-sync’d layer for your route, then it should just be available on your v4 where you can assign current stations to legs that need them and those stations will appear on the route in v4.5. But v4 can calculate the ETA’s with currents too; this isn’t a v4.5-specific feature.
You’ll have to excuse me, but I’ve been out of the US for many years, and haven’t used CE anywhere that had current data in ages. On 4.0, I get flat lines for current data. On 4.5 I get curves as I would expect. When I look a the details for a route, I see “Current 0.0”.
I have the NOAA ENC add-on installed, and it updates the charts as expected.
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, or how to fix this. Any suggestions are welcome.
It sounds like your v4 US tide and current prediction database is out of date (the predictions are not part of the charts and need to be updated separately). You can get them updated by following the instructions on this page: 2026 US Tide and Current Data - Rose Point
