2026 tide and current data

Sirs: I need help. I have lost all tide and current data. Granted I’m running a old version of CE. I have retained it because the nav bar was eliminated in subsequent editions. That’s another story. I have never had a problem before. I assumed new data was downloaded during sync. I have tried downloading (new_noaa_tides.rpmod). I have a 96 mbps connection, and I let it run for two hours before I gave up. I can’t do this by myself. Thanks for reading. Paul

I assume you mean you are using Coastal Explorer 3.1 rather than version 4… The new_noaa_tides module only works with version 4. The tide and current predictions worked completely differently in version 3.1 and I’m afraid they cannot be made to work anymore.

Appreciate the prompt replies from Brad and Bubba. I always get a quick response even if it’s not the answer I wanted.Since Tides and Currents won’t play on my CE2011, are there any third party apps that can provide me with this data that can play on CE. While I have the soapbox I might as well repeat my plea to bring back the Nav Bar. It has been gone so long that I doubt that 1 in 10 viewers know what I’m talking about. It presented The most essential nav data in a narrow strip along the bottom of the screen. It was clear and easy to read at night with my old eyes. The instrument panel on the right of the screen is a poor substitute. The print is fine and you have to scroll to get what you want. I admit that most my routes are roughly east west so the nav bar wastes less of my screen. I don’t like being left behind. I would gladly update to the latest version of CE if the nav bar was restored as a legacy feature. Thanks for listening.
