Hello! I’m hoping to make some voyaging plans for next year, but certain departure dates and times will depend on the tides. When will 2026 tides and currents for the US be available?
Before, I was able to look a couple or even a few years ahead using Coastal Explorer; do we no longer have that ability?

Coastal Explorer used to perform tide predictions based on harmonic data obtained from NOAA, CHS, and other sources, but that become unmaintainable as those agencies modernized their systems, removed availability of some of the data, etc. So we switched to using pre-computed data which we get directly from those agencies. This has the added benefit of matching what can be found on the official websites whereas the old method had some subtle differences which used to cause a lot of support calls. But it has the disadvantage of needing to be updated every year. We hope to be able to offer next year’s data by the end of September, but I can’t make any promises.
