BC Canada Currents

While I see the arrows, as tiny as they are, on the charts for the BC coast, I am at a lost to determine what direction the current is moving. The arrows I see are in pairs, one arrow pointing one direction and the other arrow pointing the opposite direction. Do the Canadian charts supply the direction or just the speed of the current?

CHS charts show the direction of current flow on the flood & the ebb.

The direction of flow for the flood is demarcated by “feathers” on the tail of the arrow. The ebb flow arrows do not have feathers.

If a number appears beside the current arrows that represents maximum speed of current flow in big exchanges.

Sounds like closely held secret code. Thanks for the info.
