For what it’s worth, glad to see the street maps being used in C.E. And ECS now as it gives more shore information than the vector charts and works well in hybrid mode. Useful when trying to direct crew change info to crews doing the changing. ![]()
Thanks, I’m glad you like them! I almost always use the hybrid street map mode myself. In fact, we’ve been thinking of changing how this works a bit in order to promote its use more:
The idea is to add an option to the Vector Chart Display settings to “Show Street Maps on Land” (or something like that). Turning this on would mean that selecting “Vector Charts” would actually be the same as select “Hybrid/Street Maps” but without changing your hybrid settings.
That means you could select “Vector Charts” which would show your vector charts on water and street maps on land, but then select “Hybrid Vector” which would replace the street maps with photo or topo maps.
It’s a subtle change, but I think it would make it easier to use the vector+street view by default.
What do you think?
I think it’s a terrific idea and a feature that I will be using.![]()

I also like this idea, always thought the land portion of the chart could be much more useful.
This has been implemented as the default for Vector Charts. Anyone that would prefer not to include the street maps and other non-official land features can turn off “Settings > Chart Display > Vector Chart Display > Enhanced streets and other features” option.
