Today’s update adds the ability to use predicted currents when calculating ETA and includes more chart drawing performance improvements. Many minor issues have also been dealt with, but none that are worth mentioning.

This works just like in v4 but the ways in which you attach current stations to legs is a little different.
To use this feature, you must first attach current stations to the legs of a route that will be affected by currents. This is done in the Route Details page by double clicking on a route leg in the list of waypoints and legs to show the leg properties where you can select from a few nearby stations.
Once current stations have been attached, the ETA for the route will include any time predicted to be saved or lost by going with or against the currents.
You can also use the change departure time option to have the app calculate a departure time based on when you want to arrive at your destination or a certain waypoint and that calculation will take the predicted currents into account.
This is way off in dream wishlist offtopic territory, but have you seen https://actualcurrents.com/ ? They use a simplified version of the ADCIRC model to provide current predictions at any location.
An integration as a layer and/or for use in route ETAs would be interesting…
