Canceled NOAA charts

I recently noticed that some chats in the quilt are missing. Right click | charts here shows a
relevant chart unchecked. Once checked, it appears and all is well. Except I don’t remember
unchecking it. After seeing this multiple times with other chart, I noticed that on chart update sync, numerous charts were ‘canceled’. Screenshot attached. Please explain how this works and why?

NOAA is discontinuing raster charts and has started cancelling some of them. When a chart is cancelled, Coastal Explorer will hide it so you don’t accidentally use old data, but you can still show it if you really want to.

NOAA has a page where you can see which charts have been or will soon be cancelled.
