Is it possible to add a Coastal Explorer computer to a fleet using the ECS Portal, for sharing layers with that computer for management purposes?
Not exactly, but we are doing something that I think will enable the same thing…
Fleet Services customers will be able to let their employees, contractors, etc. have a new type of Rose Point ECS license that will allow them to see the fleet’s layers and share their own layers with the portal.
These new licenses are included with Fleet Services at no extra cost but do not unlock all of the functionality of a regular Rose Point ECS license.
We’ve added a new type of fleet member called “Rose Point ECS User” to facilitate this. These members have limited read-only access to the fleet’s data, and can share data with the fleet, but do not have any portal access.
Any fleet member (admin, viewer, or user) that signs in to Rose Point ECS will have the ability to see the fleet’s layers as well as make and edit their own layers.
We still need to add the ability to sign in to an activated Rose Point ECS and to share personal layers with the fleet, but these features are coming soon!
