Glitches Observed in Beta

CPA while overtaking a vessel on the Mississippi is giving wildly inaccurate predicted passing points. Also below Baton Rouge, overtaking predicted passing point will jump rivers from Mississippi to PAR instead of showing passing point on Lower Mississippi.

Lateral slide instrument panel displays in knots even when settings - measurements - speeds is switched to MPH.

Own vessel is shown as closest target in AIS Vessels, would be nice for it to filter out.

CPA time in overtaking situations has consistently been very inaccurate and does seem to default to changing rivers (on Lower Mississippi at least) as observed below. Meeting CPA times are spot on.

Some places on the Mississippi, conditions will show three closest river stages, but may not include a Mississippi stage if three closest gauge locations are on nearby minor rivers.

No dikes (weir or regular) show up on chart unless I’m missing some filter, but I do believe I have everything turned on.

Predicted passing points: I’ve added this to our issues list and will look for a way to replicate the problem. Do you happen to have a voyage recording that shows these issues?

Lateral slide: The instrument has its own unit selection which can be set in the instrument editor. However, v4 let you select the units with a context menu and the default was ft/min. We’ll get this updated to match v4 for the next update.

Own vessel is target: this is not normal…do you have multiple AIS receivers?

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like my voyage recorder is set up, I do have another screen grab of the predicted passing point issue from somewhere else.

I only have one AIS receiver, going to two different computers if that might make a difference.

Not a great picture but the green line is the predicted passing line heading from LMR in the PAR. I was maybe 5 miles below area shown overtaking a vessel.

I’ve noticed a couple times some meeting points fail to show up. It seems to be related to the relative courses of the meeting vessels; because of the shape of the river,

a boat that I’ll be meeting may have a heading “behind” me as the crow flies. In this example the Martha Lynn shows a CPA of over 4 miles, which seems about right if he was going to stay his course straight over land.

I found another example of a weird predicted passing point that popped up after we had met a boat traveling the opposite direction but because of a horseshoe in the river our headings crossed again, which resulted in a CPA line appearing behind both of us.
