With an active subscription and downloaded charts, does Coastal Explorer leverage the GPS in an iPad to be a standalone chartplotter, tracking movement in realtime?
Coastal Explorer will use the built-in GPS if your iPad has one (not all do) and it can get a signal. This will be used to track movements in real-time. However, we recommend using an external GPS that is mounted outside for the best performance.
