I am trying to install on a very small PC ( MeLE Stick PC with Windows 11 Pro, Fanless Minicomputer PCG02 N100 8GB 256G | WiFi External Antenna, Kensington Lock, WoL/Auto Power On/RTC Wake,0dB 24/7 Industry IoT,Digital Signage,Office,Linux/Ubunt) so I can run CE on a TV-Monitor in the salon. It starts to download but doesn’t download a complete EXE file so it won’t install. Possibly the reason is not enough memory space, but also on this minicomputer is a gigabyte memory card. Any ideas or help, or is this an impossible install?
I don’t know anything about that particular PC, but it is certainly possible to install and use Coastal Explorer on a system with the spec’s you listed. What really matters, though, is if there is enough free storage.
You need about 300M free to download the setup program and about 600M free to install Coastal Explorer (after which you can delete the setup program). You will also need some free space to install charts, but that amount depends on what charts you need to install.
If you are unable to download the setup program, are you getting an error message from the browser? I would expect to get a fairly clear message about there not being enough space to save the download if that was the problem.
CoPilot talked me through the install, apparently Windows doesn’t trust the CE setup program and wouldn’t even save it as an EXE file. I had to temporarily change some settings, and then it downloaded and setup correctly.
