Is there a variable limit to the zoom when you are overscale?

Using Coastal explorer on my PC, and I was wondering if there is an adjustable limit to the zoom when you are overscale on a given chart.

I work in commercial maritime and it seems like with the commercial Rose Point software we can zoom much further, which while not useful for navigating due to the overscale is useful for station keeping within a certain size boundary circle.

I was wondering if there is an adjustable setting in Coastal explorer for this or if it’s simply the difference between the commercial and pleasure craft software.

Both ECS and Coastal Explorer both have the same zoom limit, which is 1:1,000 scale.
