Lost AIS warning

While beta testing version 4.5 had a crew member using the New Navigation Status Instrument in a lock loose GPS/Heading information and then noticed the status button flashing yellow towing ahead or along side. I believe that the navigation status was working correctly because his navigation status changed while being all stopped in the lock and going back to solid color when getting underway. The crew member was thinking it had something to do with lost GPS/Heading information as he’s seen it do this while transiting under bridges, if so would it make sense for the status button to display “lost GPS/SAT COMPASS”?

Thanks as always Bubba

The new Nav Status instrument will flash yellow when the system thinks your current status might not be correct, such as when your status is set to moored or at anchor but your vessel is moving along at 10 knots. This is meant to be a gentle reminder to keep your navigational status correct. In this case, the status was set to Towing Ahead or Alongside but the vessel hadn’t moved for a while, so the instrument was indicating that it might need to be adjusted.

(An alarm will sound and the POSN and HDG Sensor Status panels will turn red when the position and/or heading are lost just like in v4.)
