Move to Layer - what about copy to layer?

I can click on a marker or boundary circle, and choose Move to Layer. That moves that thing to the layer indicated.

What about COPY a marker to a layer, but leave it in the layer I am currently working in.

Move seems to do as advertised, take that marker (or whatever) and move it to a new layer, not duplicate.

I have markers placed to warn of navigation hazards. I’d like an easy way to copy those into a new layer.

Having lots of copies of the same thing in different places, and trying to manage them, is one of the reasons we made layers and added the ability to have more than one visible at a time.

We certainly could add a Copy to Layer option, and we will consider it, but the way we intended this sort of thing to work is to create a layer for things you want to see regardless of what voyage plan you’re working on. In this case, you might have a layer called “Navigation Hazards” where you move all of your hazard marks. Then you can leave that layer visible all the time, or turn it on and off as needed.

Ahh… Got it.

That was not at all obvious to me - that you could have more than one layer active at a time. That now makes complete sense.
