We’ve added an indicator that appears in the bottom right corner of the chart panel to warn of certain circumstances. When the indicator appears you can click on it to get a popup panel with more information about the warning or warnings that are in effect. Clicking on a warning in the popup typically changes the settings that triggered the warning but some warnings work a little differently.
The circumstances that trigger the indicator include:
- Uninstalled Chart(s) Displayed – this indicates that some part of the chart panel is covered by a chart that has not been installed and was downloaded temporarily instead.
Rose Point ECS adds these indicators to what is offered by Coastal Explorer:
- Unofficial Chart Displayed – this indicates that some portion of the chart panel is covered by a chart that Rose Point ECS cannot confirm is an ENC from an official source (e.g. NOAA or the USACE). Clicking on this item just makes sure the current chart type is set to “Vector Charts”
- AIS Filtering is Enabled – this indicates that some AIS targets are not being shown due to the current filtering options. Selecting this item opens the “Settings > AIS” page.
- AIS are Hidden – these indicate some AIS features (base stations, AtoNs, locating devices, SAR planes, environmental stations, geographic notices, or routes) would normally be shown but their corresponding option is turned off. Selecting this item opens the “Settings > AIS” page.
- MSI in View – this indicates that some maritime safety information (MSI) features are within the chart panel’s area but might not be visible. Clicking this item opens the Information browser.
- Objects in IMO Standard Display are Hidden – this indicates that some features in the IMO Standard Display category have been disabled in “Settings > Chart Display > Vector Chart Display”. Selecting this item opens that settings page.
- Chart display not realtime – this indicates that the chart’s time-dependent features are being shown for a time other that “now”. Selecting this item opens the “Settings > Chart Display > Vector Chart Display” page.
