New Navigation Status Instrument in Rose Point ECS

Rose Point ECS v4.5 has a new instrument panel for showing and adjusting your AIS navigation status. You’ll find it listed as “Navigation Status” in the “Other Instruments” category of the Add Instrument page.

This instrument appears as a button showing your current status. Clicking the button causes it to expand to show a list of other status options, clicking one of those will send a command to your AIS to adjust its status.

This functionality was available v4 on the AIS Sensor Status menu, but the new instrument takes it a step further… If your status is set to one where your vessel should be moving but is not, or should be stationary but is not, the instrument will flash a yellow warning to remind you to adjust your status.

The AIS allows for 15 different status options and it’s possible not all of them are relevant for your vessel (such as “Underway Sailing”). After adding the instrument, you can turn off any status options that you don’t want appearing in the instrument’s menu.
