Range and bearing display

Hi folks,
I have been using C.E. for a bunch of years and am quite happy with it. At the moment I have ver. 4.0.24269.1831 (Win 7) and accidentally stumbled across something new (to me) that I’d like to know more about.
When I select range and bearing I’m used to seeing the crosshairs of fine dashed lines that moves with the cursor and has the data in small print next to the bearing line. However, today I was fumbling around and bumped the mouse somehow and up popped a different range and bearing display. The bearing line from the mother ship was highlighted in yellow and at the end of It was a circle with cross hairs inside it, and attached to the circle was a box that showed (I believe) the range, bearing and lat/lon of the cross hairs. (and, like normal, the whole thing followed the cursor).
I’ve never seen this range and bearing presentation before and I like it better than the one I’m used to - much easier to find and to read. I’d like to know more about it - mainly, how do I turn it on and off.
Any help you can give me with this would be great!

You found the “Chart Loupe.”

You can grab it by the box and drag (or dock) it to a corner, or side. Normally, it’s in the bottom/left corner.

It’s a handy tool.

Hello StevenH - and thank you for your reply.
To be truthful, I didn’t actually “find it” - that’s far more credit than I deserve. It just appeared when I accidentally bashed something into the mouse. But now I know the Trick!

(And that also answers what that little arc is that I’ve wondered about down in the corner…) I wonder what other strange discoveries await me?!?

Thank you very much - the Chart Loupe will definitely get more use.
Have fun - Frank

Sorry, I mean to say, “bumped into.”

I promise, there are more discoveries waiting.

Hi again - Yes - “Bumped into” is about the most accurate way to put it (and to describe most things I do…)
However it happened, I’m glad it did - it seems like a neat little gizmo - and thank you for your help with it!
Frank
