Task Pane Width

I tried using the Task Pane Width adjusting tool using the passcode in the search box but did not get the adjustment the old version gave us. With all the different monitors and sizes available its a tool that the crews liked. Ideally you could have it even more friendly to adjusting like the browser screen is.

Yea, we should add that! So you have a particular size that crews seem to like? When that “secret” feature was added, we were hoping to get feedback on the actual sizes people used but we never really followed through… It would help us decide if we really just needed one different size, or if we could offer something like small/medium/large, or ???

Most my coworkers like $APP_TaskPaneWidth=200. In Portrait mode and 250 in Landscape mode, I have used 175 before on a smaller monitor maybe these numbers could be used as small, medium, large. Sizes:thinking: also while we are on task pane topic it would be cool to be able to adjust task pane colors for day dusk night mode separately from the chart colors, many of my coworkers use a red plexiglass screen to knock down the back lighting on the monitors and prefer the dusk chart color (black river) but the green dusk color (green) doesn’t show very well with the red plexiglass. Thanks for your considerations. :+1:

Interesting… The current Rose Point ECS uses 200 or 250 based on the width of the window. Maybe we just have the threshold set wrong (and should add a third size, like 175, for really small monitors)? If we could find the right thresholds, the program would just do “the right thing” without needing to set an option.

I’ll have to think about what we can do with the colors…

Just noticed that I can’t add a second, third task pane like the old version.

Do you mean additional columns? Yea, that’s not done yet.

The update we just released lets you create instrument panels with multiple columns. (Still working on the adjustable width feature…)
