Hi,

Please can somebody direct me to where details about how the license works for CE.

I am ready to purchase but I want to understand a few things first:

  • Is the license perpetual?
  • Are updates included, if so for how long?
  • What is the cost of a renewal license if updates expire?

I did have a look around, but cant find it.

Our main website (www.rosepoint.com) has a “Legal” link at the bottom of each page and that will lead you to the full Coastal Explorer license agreement. There is also a copy of it in the help system built into Coastal Explorer (accessible with the F1 key or the Main Menu). The software license is perpetual and updates are included for the life of the major version. We guarantee support for one year after purchase, but it has typically been much longer than that between major versions. (Coastal Explorer has been around for 20 years and is currently on version 4.) While we don’t have a fixed policy on this, when we have released new major versions in the past, the upgrades have always been $99 (or free for customers that purchased within the last year).
