Greetings. I have a few routes saved from ECS that I’m trying to load onto my iPad using a thumb drive however going to ‘import’ on my ipad, nothing transfers. I have deleted the app and reinstalled thinking that would work. There is an animation that shows when the file is “moving” but I can’t get it to load. I’ve also switched layers, tried making a new one but nothing seems to work. Any advice? File types are both .nob and .gpx
We fixed a few import-related issues recently but those fixes have not made it to the apps yet. You might try signing in to https://coastalexplorer.net/ and trying it there. If that works, then the routes should also appear on your iPad.
Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately that did not work for me. Said something like failed to load object - I can’t remember that exact verbiage.
I have been able to move nob files using ICloud but it’s been awhile so not able to get you a walk through on this subject. YouTube has quite a few videos on it and you might be able to use a P.C. With ICloud on it to get your files moved to your IPad. Good luck on your endeavor ![]()
Importing a file will create a new layer to hold its contents, so you don’t need to worry about what layer is selected first. The correct way to import a file once it is available to your iPad is to use “Layers > Import…”, select “Choose Files” from the popup, and then select the file you want to import. (This should work for files in iCloud Drive, on a USB Flash Drive, or stored on the iPad itself.)
Is that what you’re doing? If it is, would you try again and let us know exactly what the error message you’re getting says?
